Growing Poetry in Shakespeare’s worlds
Drama and Poetry in the primary school

With Michael Rosen and John Doona

A unique course exploring the generation of children’s poetry from inside the worlds of Shakespeare’s plays - worlds we will explore through Drama.

A highly-practical day course exploring ways in to Shakespeare texts.
Develop techniques, activities, understanding, confidence and skill.

The course will be led by world-class children’s author and poet, the former Children’s Laureate, Michael Rosen. Michael will work alongside Drama specialist John Doona, the Artistic Director of The Children’s Shakespeare Festivals and author of “A Practical Guide to Shakespeare for the Primary School”,  published by Routledge this year.

Building a

Creative Curriculum through Drama


A practical course exploring the nature of creativity in the primary classroom, with a particular focus on developing expertise in the techniques and approaches of Drama.


We will explore Creativity and Drama practically; looking at stimulating techniques and a clear approach to planning.

Venue:    The Edge Arts Centre, Chorlton,
